City closes out 2023

In Mayor Travis Schwerdtfager’s absence, Elijah Keever, City Council president, convened a special session for the month-end at 7:30 a.m., Friday, December 29.

Approved were the minutes of the December 11 council meeting as written. Payroll Voucher 23-12 for December wages and salaries in the amount of $70,297.61 was presented and approved.

An Accounts Payable list was reviewed. Unpaid invoices received to date totaled $132,128.06 were presented and approved by the council.

Applications for the renewal of Cereal Malt Beverage Licenses had previously been received from K. K. Smith, Inc. d/b/a Lincoln Grocery and Dollar General. Each application was accompanied by the appropriate fee. Cereal Malt Beverage Licenses for 2024 were approved for both vendors.

Transfers from the General Fund to the Equipment Reserve Fund in the amount of $45,000 was approved as scheduled in the 2023 budget. A transfer of $30,000 from the Water Fund, $100,000 from the Electric Fund and $15,000 from the Sewer Fund to the City’s Utility Reserve Funds were approved as scheduled in the 2023 budget.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned. The next regular meeting will be January 9 at 6:30 p.m.
