Storytime is held every Thursday morning at 10 am at the Lincoln Carnegie Library. Early literacy activities include stories, music, rhymes, games and other fun events, April 13 is the date set aside for the Lincoln County, KS Spring Beef Show at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Sylvan Grove. Open to ages 5 to 21 as of January 1, 2024, the show begins at 10 am and continues until 2 pm. Check-in is 7 am to 8:30 am.
April 20 is the date of the 2024 Lincoln County Spring Ranch Rodeo beginning at 6:30 pm. The entry fee is $400 per 4-person team with a 100 percent payback. Events include double mugging, trailer loading and branding. The April tournament is a 2-person scramble beginning at 9 am. Other dates include a 3-person scramble on May 19, 2-person scramble on June 2, 3-person scramble on July 7, 2-person night golf on July 27, 2-person scramble August 10, 3-perso scramble August 31, 2-person scramble September 22, and a 2-person/4 club scramble on October 12. Night golf begins at 5 pm and the October tournament begins at 12 pm. All others start at 9 am.
On April 21, the Lincoln County Historical Museum presents Crystal Trickle, to present a program called Ancient Inscriptions and Ancient Astronomy from North Central Kansas. Trickle, her husband, Wayne, and Ben Westerman have 25 years of experience researching these sites in Kansas and the U.S. The program will be presented at the museum from 2 pm to 4 pm. Following the presentation, attendees are invited to a road trip to see Petroglyphs near Lucas.
The 2024-25 Preschool Round-up is set for April 23 at 6 pm at the Lincoln Elementary School gym. Call 785-5244487 to register your child. Both 3-year-old and 4-year-old preschool will be offered. Children must be three years old, or four years old, by August 31 in order to attend.
