America Pickers, a documentary series exploring the fascinating world of antique “picking” airing on The History Channel, is planning another trip to Kansas in June 2024. This popular show follows skilled pickers in the business as they hunt for America’s most valuable antiques. According to a recent press release, they are always excited to find historically significant or rare items in addition to unforgettable characters and their collections.
Jasmine Joseph, producer of the show recently contacted Kris Heinze at the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce to inform her of the producer’s intent to return to Kansas.
The show is currently looking for leads throughout the state, specifically interesting characters with fascinating items and lots of them!
While on the road, the Pickers are on a mission to recycle, and rescue forgotten relics. As they travel, they want to meet collectors (“characters”) with amazing stories and fun items. They hope to give historically significant objects a new lease on life wile learning a thing or two about America’s past along the way. As the press release states, “The Pickers have seen a lot of rusty gold over the years and are always looking to discover something they’ve never seen before.”
Do you collect antique vehicles? Do you have an extensive collection of old car/ truck parts, advertisement signs or cartoon memorabilia? Do you have an old barn or shed full of treasures from days gone by? They are looking for different, unusual and unique items they’ve never seen before with an interesting story behind them.
Stores, flea markets, museums or other businesses open to the public are not contenders. Instead, they are interested in private collections and the people who own a unique item, story to tell and are ready to sell.
