Five members of the Russell High School Girls Track and Field team punched their tickets to the Class 3A State Track meet in Wichita next weekend after Thursday’s Regional meet in Beloit.

Macy Patterson qualified in the Discus throw, Kinsey Zorn qualified in the 400 and 800-meter run while Zorn, Anna Thielen, Jaden Ney and Kelvie Reeves qualified in both the 4x400 and 4x800-meter relays. As a team the Lady Broncos finished in eighth place with 36 points while host school Beloit captured the Regional team title.

The RHS Boys had a tough day managing just two points on their way to a 15th-place finish. Holcomb won the Regional title by a wide margin over second place Lakin.

VICTORIA SENDS TWO, SYLVAN-LUCAS ONE TO STATE

Two members of the Victoria Knights Track and Field teams will head to the Class 1A State Track meet next weekend at Wichita’s Cessna Stadium following Thursdays’ Regional meet at Washington County.

Emma Dinkel qualified in the Long Jump and Triple Jump while Jeb Miller will compete in the 300-meter hurdles.

Codie Huehl from the Sylvan-Lucas Mustang Track and Field team will head to Wichita next weekend to compete in the 400-meter run.

LINCOLN QUALIFIES EIGHT FOR CLASS 2A STATE MEET

The Lincoln Leopards Boys and Girls Track and Field team will send eight athletes to the Class 2A State Track meet in Wichita after Thursday’s Regional meet at Hill City.

Qualifying in the Girls 4x100-meter relays were Alyssa Lopez, Hazel Metz, Ashton Lyne and Bentley Smith. Smith also qualified in the Girls 100-meter dash and Olivia Dail qualified in the Girls 3,200-meter run, On the Boys side, Ben Bell qualified in the Pole Vault, Xavier Miller qualified in the High Jump and Jeremiah Miller qualified in the 300-meter hurdles.

TESCOTT QUALIFIES TWO FOR CLASS 1A STATE MEET

Three Tescott High School track athletes have qualified for the state championships after strong performances at the 1A regional competitions. Breonna Peterson secured her spot in both the 1600 and 3200-meter runs. Carter Peters excelled in the pole vault. Justin Pasley demonstrated his skill in the men’s javelin that earned him a ticket to state.
