LJSHS students recognized for poetry

In November 2022, three Lincoln Junior/Senior High School students entered Last November, the Appelley Publishing National Student Poetry Contest. Students submitted a poem of no less than 2 lines and no more than 20 lines of original work.

In November 2022, three Lincoln Junior/Senior High School students entered Last November, the Appelley Publishing National Student Poetry Contest. Students submitted a poem of no less than 2 lines and no more than 20 lines of original work.

Carisa McBride entered her poem ”Through the Eyes of a Baby Blanket,” Tyanna Burnett-Porter entered her original poem entitled “Caught in a Daze” and Jasmine Fenn entered her work entitled “Kiss of Death.”

Each of these students are being recognized as talented authors and have been selected for publication for the Appelley Publishing 2023 Rising Stars Collection.

Students from across America will compete for a $500 prize. Winners will be announced April 7, 2023.
