The Leopard football team has been busy this summer putting fresh touches on our town and helping their community neighbors, inspired by a little healthy competition. Coach Cody Hamel involved his team in the 2023 Lincoln Summer Olympics.

The coaching staff separates the students who signed up for football in the 2023-24 season into teams. The coaches will also track points earned and maintain a running leaderboard.

Team members earn points for their respective teams in a variety of ways such as summer athletic training, volunteering, community service and social media posts. As a bonus, they will learn how their actions affect others, the importance of hard work and the sense of pride found in helping others.

For example, participating in team events such as workouts and practices would earn each player five points per day. Attending sports camps also earns five points per day as do team building activities, weight room attendance, volunteering for youth activities and community service. Social media posts tagged with #TheLeopardWay are worth one point per post per player.

Teams lose points for violating rules. For example, criminal activity of any kind will result in a 50-point loss. Breaking team rules will subtract 25 points. Unexcused absences will deduct five points, and tardiness will deduct two points.

The team that earns the most points will receive the meal and activity of their choice, a free football shirt, and more.
