Flat track racing is a type of motor racing that takes place on a flat, ovalshaped track. It differs from other types of motorcycle racing because there are no barriers or walls around the way, making it more challenging and exciting to watch. The competition involves cars or motorcycles driving around a circular track at high speeds, with the winner determined by who reaches the finish line first.

The LJSHS student recently participated in an Xtreem Flatrack races in two classes: a 250 am and 0-249 cc class on a 3/8-mile track held at the Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, KS.

Townley came out on top in both classes.

“In the 250 am class, he passed the leader coming out of corner 4 going to the checkered flag for the win,” his father, Chad said. “And he was the youngest rider in his class. He also took first place in the 0-249 cc class.”

Hunter is the 12-year-old is the son of Chad Townley of Lincoln.
