The year was 1988. Spiked hair, miniskirts, baggy pants and faded jeans were all the rage. Microsoft had just introduced MS-DOS 4.0. George Michael was at the top of the charts, followed closely by Michael Jackson who had just been named the King of Pop by Elizabeth Taylor. A Fish Called Wanda, Die Hard and Rain Man were all released in 1988. Most importantly, that’s when Rhonda Base opened Family Hair Flair in Tescott.
Now, 35 years later her salon is still going strong, and expanded with Family Hair Flair 2 in Lincoln in 2015. Today both locations are thriving.
Rhonda and her staff maintain a full-service salon, offering everything from a trim to a deep tissue massage. They are also active in the communities they serve, participating every year in parades and other events.
Rhonda will celebrate her 35 years of business with an Open House Saturday, October 7 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Tescott location. Refreshments and prizes will be available. The public is welcome!
