Sylvan-Lucas students compete in NRCS speech contest

Four Sylvan-Lucas students participated in the Lincoln County NRCS speech contest, organized by Nancy Walter. Students presented a five to eight-minute speech they composed on the topic of “Healthy Soil; Healthy Life.” Four Lincoln County business professionals judged students on content, organization, voice, power of expression, and stage presence. The winner of the local contest was Sydney Heller, who advanced to the regional contest in Ellsworth on October 24th. The winner of the regional contest will advance to the state competition, which will be held at the Education and Youth Committee meeting during the KACD Annual Convention in November
