Willis Lee Becker was born December 31, 1931. He attended the Parochial Grade School at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and graduated from the Sylvan Grove, KS High School in 1950. He joined the Navy Reserve as did his two brothers, Kenneth and a year later, Loren joined. The twins volunteered for active duty during the Korean War, during that time, Willis earned 4 battle stars. Upon returning home he was a lifetime farmer. 05/28/2024 23:00

Dean Max Jones, 85, Lincoln, Kansas, passed away May 1, 2024, in Clancy, Montana. Dean was born in Beloit, Kansas November 12, 1938, at the Mitchell County Community Hospital, to Delmont Emery and Wilma Avanelle (Rathbun) Jones. He was the second of three boys. He graduated high school in Lincoln, Kansas in 1956, attended Bethany College and joined the United States Army. Dean then returned home and worked with his parents on the Custom Harvesting business. In 1964 he met the love of his life Ellen Jane Christensen in Dickenson, North Dakota. They were married in 1965, and had three children, Barbara Ellen, Michele Elaine, and Brian Dean. 05/28/2024 23:00

Janice was born October 17, 1945 at Ellsworth Memorial Hospital the fifth child of Merle and Lizzie (Mc-Geary) Lyne. Her early years were spent on the family farm in Franklin Township of Lincoln County Kansas. Early memories were frequent visits to Aunt Mable and Uncle George’s farm where they lived with Grandpa Howard Lyne. Playing with brothers, sisters and lots of cousins. She attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated with the Class of 1963 of Lincoln High School. She loved to read and listen to the radio. Her high school years worked for Mary Jane Day, taking care of the children, doing housework and helping to prepare meals for the harvesters. The summer after graduation she worked for Burk’s Market in Lincoln. She attended Crum’s School of Cosmetology, Manhattan, KS graduating in 1964.
