Sylvan Senior Center members and their guests could not have asked for a more beautiful evening for their End of Summer celebration. They met in the Sylvan Grove city park on Tuesday, September 12. Hayden Howard, Lincoln, was sworn into service at the September 11 meeting of the Lincoln City Council, receiving the Oath of Office by City Clerk Heather Hillegeist. Howard is a graduate of Lincoln High School, and owner/operator of Double H Heating & Cooling, specializing in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and remodeling services. Ruby Annabelle Ahring, 93, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 in Lincoln, KS. She was born November 30, 1929 in Lincoln County to Ray and Rena (Howell) Tromble. Ruby was a lifetime resident of Lincoln County. She married Lloyd Ahring in Lincoln on July 17, 1947. Ruby enjoyed reading throughout her life. She was a fantastic seamstress and made many clothes and beautiful quilts and afghans. Ruby worked at many different jobs throughout her life and after retirement devoted her energy to the Lincoln County Historical Society of which Lloyd and Ruby were both past presidents. Ruby loved gardening, especially flowers, and enjoyed her time with the Garden Club members. 09/12/2023 23:00
